What is involved in the job when it comes to web design?

First of all it’s not enough to just be able to use a web constructor where anyone can drag and drop anything to the page, save it as an html file, and upload it to the web. There are some serious skills and experiences involved in this kind of job, such as: strong knowledge of HTML and CSS, design principles, typography, color balance, web graphics formats, understanding of visual balance, ability to edit graphics, understanding how web server works, knowledge of usability, logic, and more. The choice was somewhat taken away from me by my colleagues at SalesVision launching our own Blog, where I rashly agreed to be a member. Website Analysis – Conversion – Where Do I Go From Here?

I need a little help. I am trying to improve conversions on my site http://www.prooz.com. I have put various things in place such as big bold buttons on product pages. Images to enable the buyer to identify sale items quickly. I am currently doing multivariate testing to see what works and what doesn’t however it is taking a very long time. I would like to know what other things my site is missing which may hurt conversions or things that have a definite effect on conversions turning visitors to sales.
